The Sea Dream Experience
- the perfect option for corporate or large private charters..…

After the Antigua yacht show in December 2005 I embarked on Sea Dream I for a one week cruise in the Caribbean. The cruise started in St. Martin and then we were off to Antigua, Guadeloupe, Nevis, St. Barts, Virgin Gorda, Jost van Dyke and we finished off in Puerto Rico. The Sea Dream Yacht club has 2 sister ships, that had a total refit and redesign in 2002, they cruise East and West Mediterranean, Caribbean and South America cruises starting this year.
Both ships are identical and have the same level of service. The ships have a total of 55 staterooms, from the owner's suite down to a standard guest cabin. I had one of the standard guest cabins and they are very comfortable with all amenities needed. Separate bedroom and sitting room, internet ready, ample storage space, TV, DVD, CD and filled up mini bar.
The boats have a total crew of 92 onboard (excellent ratio) and the service is nothing but excellent. I was amazed at this hard working crew that always had a smile for you, were always there when needed, quick, charming and experienced. You are really in for a treat in regards to the service.

Sea Dream is more about yachting than cruising. Being onboard these boats is not the same as being onboard a big cruise ship, it has a feeling of its own, I suppose a mix of both worlds. As most large luxury yachts are only allowed to carry 12 people onboard while cruising there seems to always be a shortage of yachts that can carry more. For a corporate charter, a big family / friends celebration or an incentive trip I believe Sea Dream is a great option. Compared to other yachts her size she is very reasonably priced, the service is there and she can carry up to 110 guests. This does not mean that all cabins have to be used - she is still reasonably priced. If you do charter her privately than it is of course you who decides dress code, dining hours, activities, meeting areas etc. You can even create your own itinerary…..
So what kind of facilities do they have onboard?
They have several bars and restaurants, both inside and outside. Some are formal and others more relaxed and they usually alternate in-between these areas. I was surprised by the high standard and variety of the food served onboard. The chef is doing an excellent job to suit all tastes, shapes and forms. Not to talk about the speed of service…. Sea Dream is working with an all inclusive formula (except for really fine wines and special alcohol). There is of course too much food but you can always work this off in the gym where they have a good selection of workout machines. They also have yoga classes several times a day. Sea Dream has its own water sports team and for several hours a day you are allowed to go sailing, water skiing, kayaking or if you like the thrill of the jet ski. I had some great fun on all the towable toys!!

The boat has a Thai beauty / massage parlour, which is very popular with women and men alike. There is an extra charge for all the treatments but it is worth every penny. You can also relax on the pool deck where you will find a salt water pool, a Jacuzzi, lots of comfortable sun beds and of course that bar who produces Pina Coladas all day long. For all you golf maniacs there is a golf simulator with 50 signature golf courses onboard as well as a large library (books & DVD's) with Internet access, a casino, a piano bar, room service and a 24-hour reception area.
For those who prefer, the yacht organises different excursions at each location, it is entirely up to you if you want to participate or not. Personally I prefer exploring the areas by myself but the option is there. The one thing you don't want to miss is their Caviar & Champagne splash. While I was onboard the caviar & champagne were served from a surfboard, in the ocean, off an idyllic island in the Caribbean. Life could be worse!

I would not only recommend the Sea Dream Yacht Club to my clients, to rent only a cabin or two, but I will certainly also recommend her to larger groups, private and corporate, that are looking for a great boat that will look after them…
